Instructor Gary Allan
Gary Allan - 1st Degree Black Belt - Instructor & Self Defense Specialist
Mr. Gary Allan teaches our youth level classes and substitutes for all classes. Began training and teaching in the 70's. He is "old school" with regards to learning but his personality and experience with his own children make him a great teacher and a huge favorite in our kids classes.
Primary art is Kuk Sool Won but has also trained in Tang Soo Do.
Specialty: Self Defense
AKA: Barracuda
Mr. Allan has seen all his children in the martial arts. Both his sons and his daughter all took Tang Soo Do. His son Jordan Allan was one of our first Black Belts and one of our most dedicated and most genuine students. Mr. Allan has always been high on integrity as all our Instructors and students, but it is clearly evident in how genuine and dedicated he is when helping his students learn.
He also assists with our Rank Exams and Demonstrations.
The kicks are fun, but Self-Defense techniques are some of my favorites. They are just so practical they can be used virtually any time. They can be very complicated to a novice but so solid when you understand the angles.
Favorite Technique:
You've gotta love Jackie Chan. His movies bring in a little fun with all the fighting and seriousness in movies these days. And you can't discount his ability. He's just as good as anyone with the things he does. And he's been around forever and done so many movies, it's hard not to like him.
Favorite Karate Movie Star:
I always remember that old 70's flick Billy Jack. Back in the day, that was THE movie! I remember martial arts really getting popular around that time.
Favorite Karate Movie:
Teaching children. I just always have a soft spot for them.
